I have a dozen different moisturizers/moisture samples lying throughout my bathroom, and so far nothing can beat this one. There is no single aspect that makes this such a winner for me, I love literally everything about this product.
First off is texture. I hate the feeling of oily or thicker lotions. Often those are wonderful at hydrating but it just makes my face feel greasy. The Clinique Moisture Surge has a gel feel. It's light and airy, but powerful. It doesn't take a lot to cover your whole face. If you are in need of some real intense hydration, you can simply slather on a thicker amount and go to bed with that as a sleep hydration mask. It is so important for me to have a powerful moisturizer, as the numerous acne medications I use can really dry out my skin.
Speaking of acne, another wonderful aspect about this moisturizer is it's from a brand that specializes in acne treatment. It never irritates my acne or makes me break out, and pairs wonderfully with whatever acne treatments you might be using. There is no worry about your moisturizer hindering the effectiveness of medication or toners. Though this is a wonderful, powerful moisturizer for those of us dealing with acne, it really works so well that I think any age and any skin type should try this. It is especially gentle on the skin, which is so necessary when you skin has been fried out by whatever else you might be using.
A little bit goes a long way, and for such a high quality moisturizer the price is quite reasonable. A large jar, which is what I normally by, will last me months at a time. There are also cheap travel versions (12$) that you can pick up to try out and see what you think.
Recently while I was shopping for my moisturizer when I was running out, I noticed that there was a new Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour hydration jar. It seems to be the revamped version of the original, which boasts 24 hour hydration. I bought the 72 Hour to see if I liked it, as often when a brand adjusts formulas I get concerned that aspects I don't like might be brought back, especially with the texture and feel of the product. Since switching, the only thing I've noticed about it is that the 72 Hour seems to be slightly thicker, and with this you really only need a minuscule amount to amply cover your face. I think it's a win, but whichever version you try I'd be really surprised if you didn't like it.
Test this out! You won't be sorry. :)
