One of the ways I try new products without breaking the bank is keeping my eye out for deals that include trial sizes with a product I was already going to buy. There is a surprisingly large amount of sets that you can get while paying little to nothing for an extra sample.
This was how I came across this clinique serum. It came in a set with their moisture surge 72 hour auto replenishing hydrator gel (I'll be writing another review comparing this to the normal moisture surge gel). l've heard a lot of comments lately about Vitamin C products and how they're supposed to help your face, but I didn't give it a whole lot of thought. Plus, they also tend to be on the pricy side. While this particular product is described as an anti-aging serum, one of the other uses of it is to help with uneven skin tone.
Because of my mixed race, my skin is a bit odd. Even though there are many Asians who have beautiful, uniform color skin, my pale face becomes very splotchy and red with acne, and once the acne fades they leave dark spots in their wake. A couple months ago I looked like I had a mustache on one half of my lip due to unfortunate pimple placement. Seeing that there was this claim to even out my skin color, I decided to try only this for a week instead of using other serums on my face.
The instructions are to use it twice daily, and to mix it with your Clinique moisturizer. I'm sure you could use other moisturizers but I used the moisture surge extended thirst relief gel. After about a week of using this combo, I'm really pleased with the results. Though I still have red spots on my face, they seem to be drastically smaller and lighter than they were before. I don't have many noticeable dark spots and I finally feel like I'm not walking around with a patchwork quilt for a face when I'm not wearing makeup. I feel that this is one of the clearest results I've experienced with any serum.
This is pretty pricy, as most serums are. They expect a tube to last a week, and for a month's supply it costs $76.50. While this is way more than I would like to spend per month on a serum, if I can eek out more than a week's worth out of each tube, I might start purchasing this because of how well it's worked for me.
I highly recommend this, the only downside is the price.
